Places to Go

At the Portobello Hotel you are only paces away from the hectic hustle of the famed Portobello antiques market and the exceptionally cool shopping scenes of Westbourne Grove and Clarendon Cross, with some of London's most innovative and famous boutiques, bars, cafes and restaurants. This is the area offering precisely the kind of London experience that international magazines are currently so enthusiastic about. Whether it's antiques and vintage clothing you are after, or just groceries and people watching, Notting Hill is a treasure trove and a parade.

A magnet for over 40 years from the hippie generation and now to the ultra-cool London set. Julie’s has been referred to as the rock chick of the restaurant world. Opened in 1969, the decadent originality of this iconic restaurant remains. A maze of glamorous rooms and eclectic furnishings with murals, church pews and pulpits, a honeycomb of small eating areas and alcoves each in a different style including a medieval private banqueting room, you can sink into golden velvet sofa’s flanked by rich Indian carvings and stained glass window. The great names from rock and roll, high society and Hollywood are still passing through their doors.
